You know that a movie called Confessions of a Shopaholic is good when your boyfriend turns to you at the end of the movie and says: “that was awesome.” A couple days ago I went to a special preview of Confessions of a Shopaholic; I had heard of the books before but did not know what I was in for. Five minutes into the colorful movie I was afraid that I was going to have to walk out of the theater, but once my patience set in I was in for a wonderful surprise.
Isla Fisher is charming, semi kooky, and wonderfully naive as Rebecca Bloomwood the leading lady in Confessions of a Shopaholic. Surprisingly enough Confessions of a Shopaholic is not only romantic and hilarious but is full of brightly colored accessories, pre-season peep toed Christian Louboutin’s, and vintage duos that will make any girl of any fashion denomination pleasantly happy. But this movie is not just about fashion, spending and glamour… although there is lots of that stuff as well… it is a story about life, how we come to be who we are, and what it takes to get us there. Regardless of all of that, even the person with the worst sense of humor can appreciate a hilarious 3 min. semi flamingo *slash* fan dancing scene to which the end of laughter is unknown. If you go see one movie next year… go see Confessions of a Shopaholic. It feels good.
